Winter Transition Underway
Mark Fuller and Tom Montgomery work an evening pod on the South Fork, 11/09/09.
It appears that the 2009 fishing season here in Western Wyoming is a wrap. As of lately temps are in the single digits in the morning and crawling slowly towards the freezing mark late in the day... pretty cold for comfortable fly fishing. However, there is some decent midge and streamer action to be found for those brave souls who venture out. I am heading south for Thanksgiving and have two days booked with some "inland Striper" guides in Georgia and South Carolina, they are saying it is turning on and the good linesides(8-15lbs) are near the surface... that should be some good tugs on the old fly rod! Stay tuned for the results.
Look for ski and winter fishing updates soon, I will be building custom liners, footbeds & boots again at Pepi Stiegler Sports in Teton Village, stop in if visiting this winter. Tight Loops!-SS
Our guides days last week turned out nicely... the weather was perfect and the fishing was relaxing- here is Jeff Currier & Tom Montgomery reflecting the summer's ventures and ambitions for the future.
