Jackson Hole Guide Report - October 16, 2012

Wow, what a great season! I am very thankful for everyone coming out and fishing with myself and all our other fantastic guides here at Jack Dennis Fishing Trips, soon to be
Grand Teton Fly Fishing.
As many of you may know we have been running our office and small fly shop under this name for the 2012 season while we await the transfer of the permits from Jack Dennis & Snake River Fishing Trips. When this occurs we will be launching a new website and re-branding campaign. We will be sure to welcome you all to this long over due event for our group, including you-- our valued clients and friends.
The fishing this fall has been quite remarkable on the Snake River and the lakes of Yellowstone. After the flows dropped on the Snake here in JH the trout became ravenous for BWO's and terrestrials, picking up hoppers well into October. The bite has slowed some recently only due to the frosty nights, however we have not seen a flake of the white stuff as of yet. Today a strong front brought fairly heavy rain and mountain snow but I think the streamer and late day small dry bite will only get better.
Lewis Lake is one of my personal favorites this time of year and has produced its vibrantly colored browns to again highlight a spectacular season.
Fun Lewis Lake video... guide's day off!
My wife and I shared her birthday float with friends and family.

Josh Gallivan with a spectacular Lewis Lake Buck!

Weldon Jones showing the goods as well... 21" BUCK.

Best to all, stay tuned!
